Matteo Melloni

After graduating in Economics at the L. Bocconi University in Milan, Matteo began his career in the Strategic and Financial Planning department of the Italcementi group and was then appointed assistant to the CFO. He was actively involved in developing a key important technological partnership with a major Swedish company and setting up local production of cellular, aerated concrete blocks – a first for Italy.

At Kraft Jacobs Suchard (Philip Morris group) Matteo gained significant experience in management control and costs in his role as Financial Controlling Manager of its core business unit (fresh cheese).

Matteo then moved to Air Liquide Italia responsible for the Management Control and Strategic Planning Department with involvement in restructuring the local organization and on-site implementation of the Group's global ERP system.

As Group Controller in Amplifon - an Italian listed multinational operating in the hearing aid market - he was instrumental in developing a global, multinational coordination and management approach embracing local business needs and diverse cultures.

He was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer in La Centrale Finanziaria Generale - holding company of a financial group of institutional partners (banks, insurance companies, industrial companies) active in Private Equity, Merchant Banking, Advisory, Finance and Real Estate.

Matteo has also held CEO positions in a number of companies involved in Private Equity deals and financial restructuring including:

  • the spin-off of a division from a multinational tobacco company
  • a consultancy and support company for the development of small and medium-sized airports
  • a start up in the green and renewable energy market with production through combined heat and power co-generation
  • a professional services and management consulting company.

In addition to having been the Deputy Chairman of (Assoesco), the trade association for energy savings companies, Matteo has lectured at IED Milan University on Business Planning and Start-Ups.
